This place is so dumb and seriously over-priced. Really? You buy two bags and it's already $60? No wonder why the location is by the farms. Only certain types of people and certain class of people can really afford to come at such expensive places like this. I can go to Cubs or other stores to go buy a bag of apples for under $10! The best part, they sell just the exact same ones or maybe even better ones! You get more for a cheaper price if you go somewhere else. These apple quality aren't even as good as store-bought ones, I highly recommend people to not come here. Their signs that says "you pay for the apples you pick" are NOT CLEARLY VISIBLE and taped very far back. Then they blame you for not seeing it because even with a bunch of people with glasses on, they still can't see it. Lastly, the workers are freaking rude. They judge and look closely at your actions, especially if you're not White. What are you gonna do if people come in and can't afford to pay them unsatisfying expensive ass insect-eaten apples??? Call the cops on us?? Dumb as hell. Not our fault for not being able to pay for all these dumb apples. I never would've came to this racist place if I know it was $30+ for just one stupid damn bag of apples.

It was nice to walk around. There was a gift store to walk around where you could get prepared food, if you're hungry. They carry all things apple...pies, cakes, muffins, sauces and condiments, and more!! There was a bit of a line in the food store. And of course, they had fun activities to do. Parking was a little tough because it rained and it isn't a paved lot, so your car will get muddy. It was later in the season, so it was hard to find certain apple species for your bags, depending on your apple preference.

We chose Afton Apple Orchard to be able to pick pumpkins from the field. I did not mind the entrance fee since I felt like we got a lot out of the experience. The kids (4 & 3) loved the giant playground area, petting zoo, apple cider tasting, photo opportunities, and hay ride to the fields. There are some other fun options like a train ride that was an additional cost. It was pretty busy and the checkout/restaurant area could use some better organization or something. Long lines out the door and with tired youngsters and arms full of apples and pumpkins it was no fun waiting. Overall, we liked it and ended up spending less than $50 (family of 4) for the 3 hours we were there.

The corn maze is 5 stars. Its challenging and intricate. The rest... oh gosh, skip it. Save every last penny and skip it. They nickle and dime you to death. Farmers do need to make money, but this is more like a fair mixed with over exaggeration of a simple novelty act. Go in the spring to be alone, and grab some great photos.

Truly a great place to get amazing apples and raspberries, and let the kids play. The petting zoo/playground is the best we've come across. They turned a combine into multiple slides and the kids love it. It can get busy on the weekends, but it is so big that's not too big of a deal. They have a large variety of pick your own apples; call the number on the website to find out what's picking this weekend.
